Mr.  David  McAtee

Mr. McAtee is starting his first year at MIS but his 25th year in education. Mr. McAtee’s most recent position was Principal at Millennium School in Homewood. Prior to becoming Principal he was the Dean of Students for 8 years and a sixth grade teacher for 7 years all at Millennium. In addition to teaching sixth grade in Homewood, he taught fifth and sixth grade in Alsip and fourth grade in Park Forest.

Mr. McAtee graduated with a bachelor’s degree from St. Louis University. He holds a Master’s Degree from Governor’s State University in Curriculum and Instruction and a Certificate of Advanced Study in Educational Leadership from Lewis University.

Mr. McAtee lives in Channahon, IL with his wife, Joan, and 2 dogs, Jackie and Jessie. Mr. McAtee has 3 sons, Brandan, Adam, and Aaron, one daughter-in-law, Katy, and one grand-daughter, Harper. In addition to enjoying spending time with his family, Mr. McAtee enjoys anything sports related. He has coached and played many different sport including most recently, lacrosse where he served as head varsity coach for 8 years at Minooka High School.
