Beginning Band:

Beginning Band is for students who are interested in learning instrumental music.  Beginning band is for 4th or 5th grade students. The Beginning band meets before school at 7:50 AM daily.  The students perform in four school concerts a year, organizational contest and many students perform in solo and ensemble contest. All band students will also have one small group sectional every week during the school day.

The band is supported by the Mokena Music Booster Association.  The Music Boosters is a separate organization that works closely with the school.  Parents are not required to join the music boosters but it is highly recommended. The band provides some instruments but normally, the students are expected to provide their own instruments. 

Cadet Band:

Cadet Band is for students who are interested in advanced instrumental music.  The Cadet Band is made up of 5th grade students. All bands meet before school at 7:50 AM daily.  The students perform in four school concerts a year, organizational contest and many students perform in solo and ensemble contest.  All band students will also have one small group sectional every week during the school day.

The Orchestra meets before school at 7:50 AM daily.  The students perform in concerts, organizational contest, and many students perform in solo and ensemble contest.  All strings students will also have one small group sectional every week during the school day.
