Join us for day 1 of Back-to-School Nights at MES and MIS!

We hope to see you at the MES and MIS Back-to-School Nights on Monday and Tuesday!

We are still looking for bus drivers for the upcoming school year! An updated bus driver compensation package was just approved by our Board of Education. Information can be found at https://www.mokena159.org/article/2356894. Please share with everyone you know!

Our last day of New Staff Orientation was led by our instructional coaching team and special education coordinators. New ceritified staff learned about our coaching program, curriculum, programs, and services related to their specific roles in the district.

At last night's Board of Education meeting, Board Members Eric Bush and Lisa Zielinski were recognized for their service to the district as past President and past Vice President. Thank you for all you have done and will continue to do for the students, staff, and community of Mokena SD 159!

We are so thankful for our strong partnerships with the Mokena Police Department and Mokena Fire Protection District! We appreciate their time in meeting our new staff members this week to share safety information and how they support our classrooms and schools!

This afternoon our new staff members met their mentors as the first step in our two year mentoring program! We can't wait to watch these relationships blossom as they work together for our students! Thank you to our mentors for fufilling this very important role in supporting our new staff members as their "marigolds"!

We can't wait!

Today we welcomed our new staff members at our first day of orientation! These special days are about more than training as we build connections and relationships that will be here to support them throughout their careers in the district. We had a great day together meeting our administrative team, taking a bus trip to tour each school, meeting community leaders at the fire department and Chamber of Commerce, and receiving classroom technology. We are elated to have this passionate group of educators join our team!

This school year, students will have two lunch options to choose from daily! Students can pick from a hot and cold lunch option each day! You can view the August lunch menus at: https://mokena159.nutrislice.com/ .

Class lists, schedules, and bus information can now be found in Skyward!

We can't wait to see our students and families at our back-to-school events starting next week!

Today we hosted our substitute teachers for a back-to-school orientation! We are beyond grateful for this group off amazing staff members who help ensure our students' learning doesn't skip a beat during the year!

Tomorrow is the day we have all been waiting for!

Today, our Building Leaderships Teams from our three schools met together with the shared purpose of collaboratively analyzing key data and crafting School Improvement Plans that will drive growth and success for the 2025-2026 school year. Thank you to our outstanding teachers and administrators on these teams for their commitment to continuous improvement for our students and schools!

We can't wait to see our students back in the gyms! The wooden gym floors at all three schools have been refinished and are ready for PE classes and athletics!

Get ready for the 2025-2026 school year!

Save the dates for our back-to-school events this month! We look forward to welcoming our students and families back soon!

The 2025-2026 school year calendar has been revised due to recent notification that one of our schools is being used as a polling place while students were scheduled to be in session. This means there is no school for all students on the March 17th which moves the last day of the school year to Friday, May 29th. The calendar can be found on our website at: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NBgnJ0fUD8mpufZAPiBRno2WfA3BiGsj/view .
