Our Masterpieces and Melodies FIne Arts Fair was a huge success Thursday evening. Thank you to Mrs. Dobbelhoff, Ms. Nyder, and Ms. Clifford for organizing the wonderful experience. And thank you to all of our families for coming out to support our Rockets.
Every MIS student selected an art piece to display and we were treated to music performed by small groups from our bands, orchestra, as well as groups of students on their recorders.

5th grade students created a "Hall of Character" that highlights the athletes they researched as part of their ELA Module!

Masterpieces and Melodies is here! Come on out to MIS to view some wonderful works of art as well as enjoy some beautiful music at our annual fine arts fair. Our doors will open at 6:00 and the evening will conclude at 8:00.

Mokena SD 159's Orchestra had the honor of being represented by bass player Grant Montgomery, as he took part in the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra's All-Star Wars concert! He got to rehearse with Maestro Stilian Kirov, 30 local all-star student musicians, and 35 professional IPO musicians and performed two concerts for many students, including the MIS's music department who supported him on a field trip.

Today MIS's Bands and Orchestra went to see the Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra perform John Williams' Star Wars Suite. They were introduced to the different sections of the Orchestra, got to enjoy songs such as the Main Title, Princess Leia's Theme, The Imperial March, Yoda's Theme, and the Throne Room, and got to interact with characters from the movies as well!
