Today we welcomed our new staff members at our first day of orientation! These special days are about more than training as we build connections and relationships that will be here to support them throughout their careers in the district. We had a great day together meeting our administrative team, taking a bus trip to tour each school, meeting community leaders at the fire department and Chamber of Commerce, and receiving classroom technology. We are elated to have this passionate group of educators join our team!

The 2025-2026 school year calendar has been revised due to recent notification that one of our schools is being used as a polling place while students were scheduled to be in session. This means there is no school for all students on the March 17th which moves the last day of the school year to Friday, May 29th. The calendar can be found on our website at:

📢 Special shoutout to MIS ELL Teacher, Ms. Nisrin Al-Takriti! She was chosen out of over 900 state educators to spend five days in Springfield this summer providing feedback on our state assessments. We are very thankful to have a Mokena educator a part of this process. You make us Mokena proud!

The Will County Regional Office of Education is hosting a Back-to-School event on August 1st in Manhattan. This event will feature free backpacks and school supples, generously donated by local businesses, to help ensure every child starts the year ready to learn!
