This week our 4th graders had the amazing learning experience of squid dissection as part of our science standards about how animals have both internal and external structures that serve various functions in growth, survival, and behavior and as a connection to our ELA curriculum module on animal defense mechanisms. Thank you to Ms. Amy, the "squid-pert", for leading this engaging activity and helping us learn!

Ms. Nyder challenged the 4th graders to keep their recorder skills strong over spring break and they practiced in some wacky places! The sweet sounds of songs like Hot Cross Buns could be heard locally in Mokena (Ethan), but also places like Florida (Adela), Tennessee (Emma), Wisconsin (Marlowe), Colorado (Matthew) and even Mexico (Edith)! Our Rockets have shown dedication in their practice to prepare for the Masterpieces and Melodies event, keep up the awesome work!

Fourth grade students are learning about the southwest region of the United States by taking a "tour" of the region. Students worked in groups to learn about a place in the region and create a diorama to visually share what the place is like. The students then went on a "tour" by viewing each group's diorama and listening to an oral presentation sharing highlights and facts about each place!
